Robin & Rafa

"I love my work in the computer industry, but for ages I’ve been looking for something extra that I could do to give back to society."

I grew up on a farm, and I’ve always enjoyed training and working with dogs, and the unconditional love and companionship they provide. So when I found out about the Delta Society, it sounded like a terrific opportunity to share that joy with other people who for one reason or another are no longer able to have a dog of their own.

My wife Jan is mad-keen on tennis, so she named our Labradoodle Rafaella, after Rafa Nadal. Rafa is really smart and adores meeting new people, so last year she and Jan passed the Delta Therapy Dogs assessment day with flying colours. This year Rafa also helped me pass the assessment day! Now Jan and I take turns with Rafa each week to visit residents in two aged care facilities in Sydney. Delta’s new logo perfectly sums up the joy that Delta Therapy Dogs brings – to the residents we visit, to us – and most importantly, to Rafa!
