Frequently Asked Questions

What will the book be about? The book will be collection of stories and personal experiences of meeting and interacting with a Delta Therapy Dog. The aim of the project is to share a diverse range of stories in various formats to reach a broad audience of volunteers, supporters, and friends of Delta.

Who can contribute? Anyone who has involved in a Delta program and has met and experienced the joy of our wonderful therapy dogs. This includes staff, volunteers, supporters, students, trainers, and friends of Delta.

 What is involved? All staff, facilities, supporters, and friends are invited to submit personal experiences, short stories, creative writing, poetry, photos, illustrations, and other interesting anecdotes to by Thursday 14 February 2019.

How will you collect submissions?All submissions will be collected by email to only.

What is the process after submission?All submissions will be reviewed and edited by a team from Delta Society and Pan MacMillan. It may not be possible for all submissions to be included in the final book, however Delta Society may share submissions through other forms of communication, including social media.

Who will own the copyright of the submissions?

Individuals and groups who submit stories, photographs, and art work will agree for Delta Society and Pan MacMillan to own copyright. The agreement includes:

By submitting text, images, and art work you give permission for the author to use the submission on social media and grant non-exclusive transferable rights to republish in book form

Are contributors paid for their submissions?All submissions are voluntary and don’t include payment. Contributions included in the final book will be acknowledged in print. A percentage of the sales will go directly to supporting Delta programs.

How will the book be distributed and how much will it cost? The book will be distributed by Pan MacMillan in stores across Australia and online.

When will the book be published? As of January 2019, the book will be published in the Spring/Summer of 2019.
